Kimmich gives back to his home town.
It is important to never forget one’s roots. Manuel Neuer’s roots are in Schalke. Leon Goretzka’s roots are in Bochum. And Joshua Kimmich’s roots are in Rottweil, an area in Baden-Württemberg that houses around 25,000 inhabitants. And now it is home to the “Kimmich Academy.”
@iMiaSanMia captured the Bayern Munich player’s initiative:
Joshua Kimmich has opened his own football academy. The “Kimmich Academy” in Rottweil, the player’s hometown, is designed to give local kids aged 6 to 14 the opportunity to train at the highest level, all without having to leave their home region, family or hometown club.
Kimmich: “I have experienced firsthand how important it is to have the right conditions to develop – from a sporting and personal perspective. This academy is a place where kids can pursue their careers in football without having to leave their familiar environment.”
This is a kind gesture from a man who is known to give back to the community (remember We Kick Corona?). Hopefully this intiative is a big success.
